Quality Assurance Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Operations

Montreal, QC

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000/yr

CMLS Financial, a leading provider of capital solutions for commercial property owners, developers, and real estate investors, is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Operations to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and inspecting loan files to ensure compliance with commercial mortgage funding quality and documentation standards, as well as regulatory requirements.

About the Role:

  • Maintain current knowledge of CMLS' commercial mortgage division's policies, practices, and compliance requirements;
  • Review and analyze commercial mortgage file documents;
  • Identify areas of opportunity and weakness from trends in quality assurance analysis;
  • Make recommendations on best practices to improve internal processes and procedures;
  • Produce accurate reports on findings and provide additional information to management on identified additional training needs;
  • Work with management team to continually refine quality assurance guidelines and recommend changes to auditing process in response to changing business and risk management needs;
  • Work with management team to implement process and internal control improvements;
  • Deliver training support as needed;
  • Support external audit and/or information requests related to operations.

This Role is for You If:

  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in both English and French;
  • You have 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: quality assurance or audit, commercial funding, commercial loan servicing, loan documentation and compliance;
  • You have a university degree in a related field, with a professional designation preferred;
  • You have a high level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts;
  • You have proficient communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
  • You have demonstrated interpersonal skills that promote mutually beneficial, respectful, and professional relationships;
  • You have excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and redirect tasks based on needs;
  • You are able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines;
  • You have a strong attention to detail and quality in all areas of work;
  • You have advanced knowledge and user of MS Office, Excel in particular;
  • You are able to operate independently with limited supervision and within a team.
