About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Technician to join our team at Régulvar. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • System Testing and Verification: Conduct thorough testing and verification of control systems installations to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Calibration and Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and maintenance of detection and actuation devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Programming and Commissioning: Complete programming of digital control systems and perform system and equipment start-ups, including related documentation.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot equipment and determine corrective actions to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Installation and Termination: Install and terminate control devices, such as controllers, sensors, actuators, and relays, according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Training and Support: Provide training to clients on the use and maintenance of our building automation systems.
Requirements
  • Education: College diploma in Instrumentation and Automation, Electronics, or Building Mechanical Systems, or a university diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical job-related tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), general-purpose programming languages (BASIC, C++, GCL), and building automation systems.
  • Personal Qualities: Valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, no criminal record, good sense of organization and planning, ability to work in teams, great sense of customer service, and good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of HVAC Systems: Familiarity with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • BACnet Protocol: Knowledge of the BACnet protocol for building automation systems.
  • Computer and Telecommunication Networks: Familiarity with computer and telecommunication networks.
  • Health and Safety Trainings: Valid health and safety trainings, including WHMIS, working at heights, locks and tags, and Arc flash awareness.
