Position Overview:

The University of Waterloo is looking for two dedicated Facilities Operations Specialists II to enhance our team. The Facilities Operations Specialist II will play a crucial role in the upkeep of mechanical systems, building infrastructure, and the surrounding environment of the campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to strategic initiatives for campus sustainability and resource management
  • Manages and maintains HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and additional mechanical equipment
  • Ensures adherence to health and safety standards
  • Oversees the coordination of contractors and internal staff
  • Conducts facility evaluations and prepares detailed reports

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Community College Certificate in Building Environmental Systems
  • A minimum of three years' experience in the maintenance of building systems
  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities
  • Capability to interpret blueprints
  • Effective communication skills
  • Valid driver's license is required
