Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist (Plasma Associate) to join their dynamic Collections Operations team.
About the RoleThis is a regular part-time opportunity that requires the candidate to perform assigned duties associated with the plasma donation and production process, as defined by standard operating procedures.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage excellent customer service skills to promote a positive experience for donors throughout the collection process.
- Utilize superior interpersonal and communication skills to greet and assist all plasma donors as they progress through the donation process.
- Apply experience and training in phlebotomy to perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitoring donors for safety and comfort.
- Ensure completeness of information in our IT system for products, when completing the labelling process for products, and when preparing products for freezing, centrifuging and shipment to our testing facilities.
- Education and Experience:
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/health-related fields of study.
- Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
