About the Role

At KPMG in Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Global Mobility Tax Specialist to join our Global Mobility Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing Canadian and US personal and payroll compliance and advisory tax services to our multinational clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping our clients navigate the complexities of global mobility and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Providing tax compliance management services, including Canadian and US personal tax returns, tax projections, tax equalizations, and cross-border (shadow) payroll.
  2. Managing international assignment programs, including all aspects of client engagements.
  3. Reviewing the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
  4. Advising on various mobility issues, such as business travelers and cross-border remote work arrangements.
  5. Providing ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 4 years' experience in a public accounting firm specializing in personal Canadian and US tax and/or expertise in cross-border Canada-US payroll matters.
  2. Excellent people management skills.
  3. Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth.
  4. Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professionalism in the performance of duties.
  5. Emphasis on quality and adding value to client offerings and services.
  6. Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
  7. Excellent computer skills, with Excel experience required.
  8. Effectively managing conflicting demands and priorities.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing effective interaction with staff and clients.
