Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior, Dispatcher/Router to join our team at Waste Management. As a key player in our operations, you will be responsible for communicating with drivers, handling service orders, and resolving issues.

Responsibilities
  • Optimize complex routes by collaborating with routing specialists, route managers, and the service department.
  • Dispatch drivers to calls based on customer needs, driver locations, and daily factors.
  • Field incoming calls from customers and manage requests for pick-up or container delivery.
  • Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site, resolving pick-up and other issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues.
  • Record and document information from Drivers and distribute to appropriate departments.
  • Communicate with maintenance shop personnel and serve as an emergency point of contact for down wires and other issues.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous dispatching experience.
  • Additional training in transportation, logistics, or a similar area of study is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple programs and systems.
