Niagara Energy Products Inc. (NEP), now part of NAC International, seeks a highly skilled Financial Leadership Director to lead our finance team.

About the Position

This senior-level position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in managing financial operations, including Accounting, Financial Planning, Reporting, and Risk Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance on financial planning, growth initiatives, and risk management;
  • Oversee accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation;
  • Establish and maintain costing standards;
  • Develop tracking methods for revenue and expenses;
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales to ensure fiscal targets are met;
  • Lead the development, oversight, and management of the organization's investment plan;
  • Manage the annual budgeting process;
  • Analyze financial data for forecasting, trends, and compliance;
  • Manage insurance coverage for the organization;
  • Ensure regular business reviews and corporate risk management;
  • Comply with federal and provincial tax laws and regulations;
  • Own Finance operations, including financial reporting, forecasts, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, and procurement;
  • Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of financial operations;
  • Manage AR/AP cycles with external partners and customers;
  • Optimize Cash Flow;
  • Review transactions for cost-effectiveness;
  • Take ownership of investments;
  • Conduct audits of expenditures, assets, and liabilities;
  • Lead Corporate Governance and ensure adequate levels of governance and oversight;
  • Manage commercial oversight of orders and contracts;
  • Participate in proposals for new business.

Candidate Requirements

  • An Accounting designation (CPA) is required;
  • At least 10-15 years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment;
  • Knowledge and skills in preparing financial statements;
  • Experience with Financial Planning, Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting;
  • Experience with ERP systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics or NAV;
  • Knowledge of Canadian GAAP;
  • Experience processing payroll through ADP systems;
  • A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality;
  • Ability to work independently and support various levels of leadership and departments;
  • Meticulous record-keeping skills and attention to detail;
  • Outstanding organizational skills;
  • A strong work ethic, diligence, and commitment;
  • A proven track record of problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
