Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a skilled arts instructor to lead creative introductory arts programs for children. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and multi-media arts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead creative introductory arts programs for children
  • Assist in the delivery of creative instruction in theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and multi-media arts
  • Develop and implement engaging arts programs for children
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality arts program

Requirements

  • Enrollment in Grade 11 participating in one or more of the following arts disciplines: theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and multi-media arts or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing and/or teaching in a related discipline
  • Previous experience working with children in an arts instructional setting
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
  • High Five training courses
