The firm has a 50+ year track record of investing in Canadian mid-market companies. With offices in Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary, and strategic relationships nationwide, the investment team is well-positioned to partner with a wide range of businesses across many industries.
Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to the investment decision-making process and provide support to the investment team regarding investment opportunities.
- Manage ad-hoc internal tasks such as compliance reporting, internal memos, and portfolio results/presentations.
- Conduct company-specific and industry-wide due diligence.
- Manage the reporting and compliance of existing portfolio companies internally.
- Prepare financial models and valuations, internal investment memos, and industry overviews.
- Assess new and existing investment opportunities, along with their expected merits and risks.
Requirements
- 2 - 3+ years of total work experience with 1+ in one of private equity, corporate development, corporate finance, or investment banking.
- Completion of, or enrollment in, a professional designation (e.g., CFA, CA, CBV) is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced to Expert proficiency with Power Point.
- Self-motivated individual with a professional demeanor.
- Strong technical accounting and finance skills; experience conducting financial analysis with knowledge of building detailed financial models (operating models, LBOs).
- A detail-oriented person with a passion for investing who is dynamic and proactive.
