About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our Calgary team. As a member of our team, you will work directly with seasoned investment professionals and entrepreneurial business owners to evaluate new investments, present opportunities to the Investment Team, and participate in portfolio management. You will experience working in a collaborative and friendly environment while being empowered to exercise your judgment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the investment decision-making process and provide support to the investment team.
  • Manage ad-hoc internal tasks such as compliance reporting, internal memos, and portfolio results/presentations.
  • Conduct company-specific and industry-wide due diligence.
  • Manage the reporting and compliance of existing portfolio companies internally.
  • Prepare financial models and valuations, internal investment memos, and industry overviews.
  • Assess new and existing investment opportunities, along with their expected merits and risks.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of work experience in private equity, corporate development, corporate finance, or investment banking.
  • Completion of, or enrollment in, a professional designation (e.g., CFA, CA, CBV) is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong technical accounting and finance skills; experience conducting financial analysis with knowledge of building detailed financial models.
