The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in the Cardio-Respiratory Department, performing duties as required by the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists' Scope of Practice and Institutional Policy and Procedure. This includes assessments, implementation of treatment, evaluation, care plan, and education of patients requiring respiratory therapy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of respiratory therapy care and be able to adapt to the needs of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct full respiratory assessments and evaluate progress
- Implement treatment plans and adapt to patient needs
- Obtain patient histories and assess clinical significance of therapist-driven protocols
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and registered with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certified or willingness to obtain
- Current Heart & Stroke BCLS (Level C) Certification
- Member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) preferred
A competitive hourly rate of $29.66 - $40.66, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
