Key Responsibilities


  • Provide nursing care to psychiatric patients, both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Enhance quality of life for patients and families through consultation, collaboration, and evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement and maintain advanced clinical competence
  • Participate in designated hospital committees and approved research projects as assigned


The Inpatient Mental Health and Substance Use program at Interior Health Authority is committed to providing compassionate and holistic care to individuals struggling with acute mental health challenges. Our interdisciplinary team works together to promote wellness and support recovery, emphasizing nutrition, exercise, medication management, therapy, relapse prevention, and other wellness strategies.



This is a permanent full-time opportunity with competitive salary and benefits package. Shifts of work are evenings and nights, 15:00 to 23:00 and 19:00 to 07:00. Situated in the beautiful town of Princeton, surrounded by stunning natural scenery and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities, this role offers a unique chance to live, work, and play in a picturesque setting.



About the Location

The 16-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at PRH provides Acute Mental Health and Substance Use services for the South Okanagan region. We strive for the highest professional standards of care, adhering to evidence-based practice and embracing innovation. Our facility is safe, secure, and accessible, and we liaison with community and tertiary mental health partners to provide a continuum of care for our clients.
