About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals to develop and achieve personal goals, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Ensure individuals' basic needs are met, including hygiene, personal care, life skills, and social/occupational skills.
  • Assist with household chores, meal preparation, and cleaning.
  • Drive individuals to appointments, activities, and community events, promoting social inclusion and community engagement.
  • Support and supervise clients' behavioural, emotional, and social needs, using de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations.
  • Administer medication and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Document daily reports and observations using a computer program, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or diploma/degree in Disabilities Studies, Social Work, Human Services, Special Education, LPN, Healthcare Aide, Nursing, or related field.
  • 1 year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, autism, and/or trauma.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License with a clear driving abstract and reliable vehicle.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to promoting the rights and autonomy of individuals with disabilities.
