Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to build life skills, independence, and social interaction within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support individuals to develop life skills and social/occupational skills, promoting independence and community participation.
  • Assist clients with daily household tasks, including food preparation, laundry, and light personal care.
  • Transport clients to appointments, day programs, and community events.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of individual service plans and program policies.
  • Communicate and document program changes and service recipient updates to stakeholders.
  • Observe and document client needs and preferences.
Requirements
  • Previous experience with complex behavior supports is an asset.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License, clear driving abstract, and reliable vehicle with suitable insurance.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention, Medication Administration, Abuse Protocol, Proactive Procedures, and Behavioural Strategies training.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety rules and guidelines.
