Job Title: Health and Safety Officer

Holcim is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team. As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to the development of operational processes, policies, and training requirements related to health and safety. You will play a key role in ensuring that appropriate safety practices are in place to prevent incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site safety leadership and guidance to ensure a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with management teams to implement and improve safety processes and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with site managers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Participate in the execution and dissemination of safety programs, including training and awareness initiatives
  • Assist in the development of safe work processes and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with company policies and industry standards
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely
  • Collect and analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with site management to develop and implement safety systems and processes, ensuring they are effective and efficient

Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in safety or a related field
  • Bilingual in French and English

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in various computer applications and software
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards

Personal Qualities:

  • Action-oriented and proactive approach to safety
  • Strong conflict resolution and customer focus skills
  • Effective prioritization and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
