Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Volvo Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for coordinating the management of all matters related to Environmental and Health and Safety at our St-Eustache plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety management system to ensure compliance with federal and provincial occupational health and safety legislation.
- Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
- Collaborate with sector managers, prevention representatives, and employees to establish a prevention program and participate in a health program.
- Represent the company on the health and safety committee and coordinate committee activities with worker representatives.
- Develop and recommend appropriate health and safety policies and programs.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Manage accident and occupational disease records, and maintain the emergency measures program.
- Support the management team in developing an EHS culture and promoting a strong preventive health and safety management culture throughout the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with a specialization in health and safety management or appropriate technical degree with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of federal and provincial occupational health and safety legislation, as well as a good understanding of occupational health and safety issues.
- Excellent knowledge of CSST and disability file management.
- Knowledge and/or strong interest in the environment.
- Ability to quickly grasp the issues of a situation, and strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- Autonomous, proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrate strong influential leadership.
- Interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Strong customer and results orientation.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
