Job Summary

Chalex Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of Drywall Sheets: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to create a solid foundation for our construction projects.
  • Taping and Joint Compound Application: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless finish.
  • Compound Application and Smoothing: Apply successive coats of compound and smooth out excess compound to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Corner Bead Installation: Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a durable finish.
  • Ceiling Grid Installation: Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying locations. You will be exposed to dusty conditions and will be required to handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Working Conditions

Chalex Construction Ltd. offers a permanent position with a 30 to 44 hour workweek. The language of work is English.
