Job Summary

Chalex Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Specialist to join our team. As a Drywall Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall sheets in various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to meet project requirements.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure stability and safety.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a professional finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to ensure a strong bond.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Specialist, you will work in a variety of locations, including construction sites and offices. The work environment is dusty, and you will be required to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment and handle heavy loads.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Working Conditions

The work term is permanent, and the work language is English. The work hours are 30 to 44 hours per week.
