Drywall Installation Job Description

At Chalex Construction Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with drywall installation, including measuring, cutting, and fitting drywall sheets, as well as applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and even finish
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a seamless finish
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound

Work Environment:

The Drywall Installation Specialist will work in a variety of locations, including construction sites and warehouses. The work environment will be dusty, and the candidate must be able to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment and handle heavy loads
  • Physical stamina to work in a physically demanding environment

Language: English

Work Schedule: 30 to 44 hours per week
