Job Title: Physiotherapy Assistant - Long Term Care

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with our Physiotherapists to provide high-quality care to our residents in a Long Term Care setting.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist with conducting group exercises, lead one-on-one exercises, and document treatments and residents' progress. You will also be responsible for monitoring residents' health status and reporting any changes to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with conducting group exercises for residents, and/or lead one-on-one exercises with the assigned resident as directed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
  • Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist's instructions.
  • Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
  • Monitor any changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
  • Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.
Requirements:
  • Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
  • Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be a definite asset.
  • A current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
  • A valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle is required.
