About the Role

We are seeking a skilled MIG welder to join our team at ABC Fire Door. As a MIG welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and products using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Execution
    • Interpret welding process specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and repair of metal parts and products.
    • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Quality Control
    • Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications.
    • Perform quality control checks on fabricated and repaired metal parts and products.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment.
    • Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines.
  • Material Handling
    • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move metal parts and products.
    • Determine weldability of materials and select appropriate welding processes.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in MIG welding and metal fabrication.
    • Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong understanding of welding processes and techniques.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
