**Job Summary**

Crawford & Company is seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster - Property and Casualty to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating property and casualty claims, negotiating settlements, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate property and casualty claims through thorough loss investigation and negotiation of settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements.
  • Interview claimants and witnesses to gather information and assess liability.
  • Obtain and review official documents, such as police reports and medical records.
  • Compare claims information with evidence to determine liability and make offers to claimants.
  • Issue cheques and dispose of salvage as necessary.
  • Pursue subrogation to recover losses.
  • Accurately record, report, and present files, including evidence at legal proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate billing, time, and expense records.
  • Collaborate with managers to maintain excellent client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an insurance environment, preferably in claims adjusting.
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field is an asset.
  • Licensed or working towards a CIP designation.
  • Experience in road adjusting, including investigation and detailed reporting of property and casualty claims.
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactAnalysis.
  • Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
