Risk Management Specialist
Alcool NB Liquor is seeking a Risk Management Specialist to join our Finance team. As part of our Shared services, this role will be working with both ANBL and CannabisNB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement enterprise risk management strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with management and internal audit teams to support the development and execution of the annual audit plan and longer-term audit strategies.
- Collaborate with management and insurance brokers to assess business risk and mitigate exposure through the acquisition of appropriate insurance policies.
- Cultivate business partnerships to define risk and control frameworks and methodologies that support and drive business growth while promoting fiscal responsibility and ensuring compliance with established Board of Directors and governance requirements.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder reporting to deliver relevant information and insight into operational factors driving business risk and control weaknesses.
Requirements:
- CPA designation or equivalent, Certified Internal Auditor qualification, or professional certification in risk management.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a related risk management or auditing role.
- Experience with enterprise risk management.
- Strong analytical skills; high attention to detail.
- Process improvement driven.
- Well-developed writing skills and able to generate high-quality deliverables in clear terms.
- Able to translate strategic direction into tactical operational plans.
- Highly effective at communicating, building relationships, challenging assumptions, and influencing others.
- Creative problem solver with strong critical thinking and research skills.
- Able to apply conceptual frameworks to new and unique situations.
- Effective time management, organization, and prioritization capabilities.
- Confidentiality and discretion required.
Language Competencies:
- Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset, but not required.
Work Location:
- The successful candidate will have the option to work onsite at ANBL's Retail Operations Centre (ROC) in Fredericton, New Brunswick, or work on a hybrid basis dividing their time between home and ROC.
