Job Summary

The High Net Worth Planner is a key role within TD Wealth Management, responsible for delivering high-value customized guidance on tax, retirement, estate, and overall wealth planning to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with TD advisors to provide expert advice on tax, retirement, and estate planning to high net worth clients.
  • Develop and implement customized wealth plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant wealth planning developments and trends to ensure clients receive the best possible advice.
  • Participate in client meetings and educational seminars to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Work closely with investment advisors and relationship managers to ensure seamless delivery of wealth planning services.
  • Contribute to the development of TD Wealth's high net worth strategy and deliver industry-leading HNW planning solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures while delivering HNW planning services.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for complementary businesses and solutions to enhance client experiences.
  • Assist advisors and relationship managers with business development, opportunity spotting, and revenue generation.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation of client plans and intentions.
  • Monitor and report on the outcome of wealth plans delivered and new business generated.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to attract, acquire, and retain clients, sales opportunities, and referrals.
  • Promote and offer a full suite of tax and estate products, sales, services, and banking capabilities.
  • Protect the interests of TD Bank by identifying and managing risks, and escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions as necessary.
  • Identify, suggest, and participate in process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage relationships within and across businesses to ensure alignment with TD Bank and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements to assess potential impacts.
  • Support corporate responsibility and citizenship objectives through community and charity involvement.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Advanced professional degree (CA or LL.B/JD).
  • Certified financial planning designation an asset (CFP, Pl. Fin, etc.).
  • Tax knowledge and expertise on holistic financial planning.
  • Completion of the In-depth Tax course, levels 1 & 2 or Masters of Tax is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of practical experience.
