Environmental Services Manager Job Description

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to oversee the maintenance and housekeeping operations of our long-term care home in the GTA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the home, ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Manage the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments to achieve high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Supervise contractors' work and monitor the quality of services provided by departmental staff.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, inventory, and supplies.
  • Participate in leadership team activities and responsibilities, including reporting and quality management.

Requirements:

  • Two-year post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Services/Building Services Management or related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems.
  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Health and safety certification and knowledge of evidence-based practices are assets.
