Job Summary

As a Roadway Design Engineer at CONSOR Engineers, you will play a crucial role in supporting transportation improvement projects by designing and detailing local, county, and state roadway and highway projects. Your expertise will be essential in assisting with geometric analyses and calculations using established design criteria and standard software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections for transportation improvement projects.
  • Support the design team in developing design documentation, plans, and reports for specific tasks and quantity calculations.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
  • Perform engineering calculations and estimates for transportation projects.
  • Collect and process data for topographic surveys and right-of-way engineering for use in design analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum four years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in Microstation, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
Work Environment

This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment, requiring the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. Occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water may be required, depending on project requirements.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs may be required.
