Pharmacy Technician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and contributing to the success of our Cancer Center Specialty Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications and maintaining accurate records
  • Operate point-of-sale systems and manage inventory
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with patients and healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe and secure work environment
Requirements:
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Graduated from a Pharmacy Technician Program at a recognized or accredited private or community college
  • 3-5 years of experience in a retail setting, with a preference for retail oncology settings
  • Experience with Kroll, third-party billings, point-of-sale systems, Mosaiq, and Meditech
  • Knowledge of Cancer Care Ontario care plans and funding is an asset
  • Experience working with cytotoxic medications and narcotic and controlled drug inventory procedures
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
