Key Responsibilities- Infuse enthusiasm and dedication into the Pharmacy Technician program.
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging courses, practical labs, and clinical placements related to the Pharmacy Technician curriculum.
- Facilitate student engagement in various learning environments, ensuring clarity on curriculum, academic progress, and assessment methods.
- Utilize diverse delivery methods, including video conferencing, to enhance learning experiences.
- Oversee strategic planning and coordination responsibilities.
- Create a supportive learning atmosphere that effectively utilizes available resources, integrating various teaching methodologies to accommodate different learning styles.
- Assess student performance and progress through a range of evaluative tools.
- Actively contribute to student success and well-being.
- Participate in the selection of learning resources.
- Engage in special events, consultative committees, and the design and revision of program and course curricula.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students regarding course selections, career paths, and opportunities for advanced education.
- Prepare for and participate in program accreditation processes.
- Collaborate as a team member in departmental initiatives and committee activities.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A degree in Pharmacy.
- Registration as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists in good standing.
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience as a Pharmacist in either a hospital or community setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Indigenous communities, particularly those within the college's catchment area.
- A commitment to educational equity and the ability to teach diverse student populations.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- A degree from an accredited Pharmacy program.
- Experience in teaching or training at the college, university, or corporate level, utilizing both traditional and distributed learning methods.
- Leadership or management experience.
- Strong community, industry, and government networking skills.
- A current professional affiliation.
- A proven ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Experience in curriculum and program development, including innovative teaching techniques.
Additional experience in areas such as alternate delivery strategies, academic advising, adult learning theories, culturally competent teaching methods, and educational technology applications will be considered an asset.
Note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening prior to employment commencement.
