We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Gaetan Riendeau Inc. in a permanent position. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, including managing staff, determining merchandise and services to be sold, and implementing price and credits policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 5-10 employees, including grocery clerks and shelf stockers, to ensure excellent customer service and a smooth store operation.
  • Determine staffing requirements and plan budgets to monitor revenues and expenses.
  • Locate, select, and procure merchandise for resale, including fruits and vegetables.
  • Implement price and credits policies, and resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
  • Conduct performance reviews and supervise staff to ensure they are meeting their job expectations.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure the store is running efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail management role, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability, creativity, efficiency, and a positive attitude are essential for this role.
