Gallery Facilitator

Job Summary:

The Regina Public Library is seeking a skilled Gallery Facilitator to enhance the customer's experience and appreciation of visual culture. As a key member of the library's team, the successful candidate will be responsible for improving patron access to exhibitions and programs, while maintaining the safety and security of the gallery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a facilitator to enhance the customer's experience and appreciation of gallery presentations and exhibits.
• Support the Curator of Education and Community Outreach on exhibition and other related activities held by the gallery.
• Maintain appropriate patron behavior for the safety and security of the exhibitions.
• Assist maintenance staff by maintaining tidiness of the galleries.
• Record visitor statistics.
• Open and close the gallery.
• Perform other duties essential to the achievement of efficient public service operations.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12, plus up to two years of post-secondary study in the area of Fine Arts.
• Nine months to 1 year of successful experience in direct customer care activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of a variety of artist/gallery-related reference sources.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
