Veterinary Technician

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care to animals in need? We're seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team at 404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital in Newmarket, ON.
About the Role:As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our veterinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our veterinarians and other support staff in the delivery of emergency and critical care services.
Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional patient care, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other support staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Assist with surgical procedures, including preparing patients, maintaining asepsis, and providing post-operative care.
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and test results.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing them with clear and concise information about their pet's condition and treatment options.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and technology.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification in Ontario or passed VTNE within 1 year of start date.
- Preference given to those with experience as an RVT, but we also consider enthusiastic and motivated new graduates keen to learn and develop.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and pet owners.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed patient records, with a focus on attention to detail and organizational skills.
