About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Maple Leaf in Banff. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the kitchen team and ensure the smooth operation of food preparation and presentation
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to maintain kitchen organization, efficiency, and standards
  • Coordinate ordering of supplies and manage food and product inventory
  • Develop and implement kitchen procedures and training programs
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff
Requirements
  • 2-3 years culinary experience, with prior supervisory experience an asset
  • Food Safety certification and knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and maintain a calm and collected demeanor
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
