Job Summary

Agri-Trans Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Optimization: Utilize computer equipment, GPS systems, and other navigation devices to plan and adjust routes, minimizing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Logistics Coordination: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure vehicle reliability.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping and handling procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Schedule: 32 hours per week.
