Physician Associate

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a highly skilled Physician Associate to join our team in the Department of Urology. As a Physician Associate, you will work under the supervision of a fully licensed physician to provide medical care to patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urology or a related surgical specialty, with experience in active general or family practice in the community. You will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical duties, including making rounds with supervising staff, working with attending staff and other healthcare team members, and communicating with patients and families.
You will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day care of patients, including writing medical orders, performing procedures, and responding to emergencies. Additionally, you will participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, such as educational sessions, tumor boards, and rounds.
The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to participate in on-call responsibilities and assist in the operating room as needed.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will have a good command of written and spoken English, as well as the ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate will have a Clinical Assistant License from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia, as well as CMPA coverage and ACLS certification. You will also have the ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform duties as outlined above, with high mental and visual demands.

HoursThis is a permanent, full-time position with a 96-hour bi-weekly schedule.
Compensation and BenefitsThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $65.81, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
