Accounting Professional

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contractor pay, log sales, and stumpage data. Your duties will include processing contractor pay, managing log sales invoicing and reconciliations, preparing accruals and processing payments relating to stumpage and waste, and assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial entries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage contractor pay – data entry, contract management, and payment to contractors on a bi-monthly basis
- Process and manage log sales invoicing and reconciliations
- Prepare accruals and process payments relating to stumpage and waste
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial entries
- Manage marine data tracking and marine services invoicing
- Process accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with internal recurring reports, along with ad hoc and statutory reporting
- Assist and provide backup support to other accounting staff as required
Requirements:
- Manufacturing or operational accounting experience
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business
- Forest industry experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability and self-motivation to work independently
- Ability to effectively and courteously communicate information and clarify requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and other departments
- Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work
- Understand the importance of teamwork and have a positive impact on the team
