About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our team at Mount Royal University. This tenure-track position offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic educator to contribute meaningfully to both General Management and Communications Studies.

The successful candidate will teach and lead curriculum development in two courses: Business Communications in the General Management Department and Roles and Practices in Contemporary Communications, one of four core communication courses required of all students in Communication Studies. These courses involve practice-based teaching, informed by theory.

Applicants should have experience teaching across both areas, as well as a strong background in communications that move beyond the written word. We welcome educators who understand organizational storytelling and can effectively engage with diverse communities, create inclusive classrooms, and understand decolonization and Indigenization.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This role requires a Master's degree, business/industry experience with a communications focus, and teaching and curriculum development experience at the post-secondary level. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching Business Communications or Roles and Practices in Contemporary Communications or equivalent. Strong interpersonal, written, presentation, and communication skills, along with attention to detail, are essential for this role.
