About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Continuous Instructor to join our team at NAIT. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and ensuring student success in our Auto Body Technician program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory, and industry setting.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program reviews, and course reviews.
  • Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials.
  • Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records.
  • Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention.
  • Respond to student issues.
  • Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions.
  • Maintain and/or submit program/student records accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021, NAIT's Strategic Plan, and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute.
  • Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement.
  • Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Completion of Auto Body Technician Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required.
  • Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent.
  • Teaching experience an asset.

This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement.
