Continuous Instructor, Automotive Body Repair Programme

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team as a Continuous Instructor in our Automotive Body Technician Programme.
As a Continuous Instructor, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory, and industry setting. You will also participate in curriculum development, programme reviews, and course reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory, and industry setting.
- Participate in curriculum development, programme reviews, and course reviews.
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials.
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment.
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records.
- Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention.
- Respond to student issues.
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and programme promotions.
- Maintain and/or submit programme/student records accurately and promptly.
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021, NAIT's Strategic Plan, and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute.
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement.
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Completion of Auto Body Technician Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required.
- Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent.
- Teaching experience an asset.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
What We Offer
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00 annually, and starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations.
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement.
