As an Adolescent Mental Health Professional, you will play a vital role in providing holistic care to youth up to the age of 19 who are harmfully involved with substances and/or gambling, or who may present with concurrent mental health disorders.

As a key member of the inter-professional team, you will be responsible for delivering family-centered nursing care that is consistent with the philosophy, objectives, mission, and vision of the IWK Health Centre. This includes conducting initial and ongoing nursing assessments, participating in the interdisciplinary treatment plan, and ensuring the integration of identified treatment plans on the 24/7 unit.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive evidence-based care that meets the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding the team and ensuring that patients and families receive high-quality care.

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years' experience working with adolescents and young adults
  • Proven expertise in adolescent mental health and substance use treatment
  • Ability to support/co-facilitate psychoeducational, psycho-therapeutic, life skills, and recreation therapy evidence-based groups
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to drive program van as required
