Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Operations Engineer to join our team. As an Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in the delivery of the highway maintenance program, providing technical support and expertise to ensure the program is delivered within scope, cost, time, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Manager in supervising the Highway Maintenance Contracts.
  • Provide engineering support on behalf of the Operations Manager to the Infrastructure section for development permits and highway planning.
  • Provide technical support to the Operations Manager for roadway operations and smaller projects.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in dealing with the public, stakeholders, and municipal authorities.

Requirements

  • Provide advanced technical support for delivery of departmental programs.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of small contracts and service agreements.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions for issues regarding conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Working Environment

The Operations Engineer will work within a safe work environment, providing leadership, technical support, and expertise to ensure the highway maintenance program is delivered successfully.
