Job Description

About the Role:

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Indigenous Education Coach to join our team. As an Indigenous Education Coach, you will play a vital role in promoting Indigenous cultural awareness and understanding within our schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement culturally responsive educational programs and resources that promote Indigenous cultural awareness and understanding.
  • Provide professional development and support to teachers and staff on Indigenous cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations to promote partnerships and collaborations.
  • Conduct research and analysis on Indigenous education best practices and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Must produce an ORIGINAL, acceptable, recent (less than six months old) Criminal Record Check at time of the interview.
  • Criminal Record Check must include a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
