Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process from concept to tender, including contract letting and planning. This role requires a highly experienced leader with sound estimating knowledge, excellent vendor and client relationships, and strong business development skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and interpret tender drawings and specifications
  • Perform or direct quantity take-offs from tender drawings
  • Develop strategies to create a competitive edge in the market
  • Prepare and submit detailed budgets
  • Detailed and comprehensive quantity takeoff and accurate cost evaluation
  • Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, define scope, evaluate risks, and submit bids
  • Oversight of tendering and awarding contracts
  • Act as the point of contact and advisor for assigned projects from initial client contact to project handover
  • Lead Design-Build projects through the tender stage, including involvement in team meetings
  • Mentor junior employees
  • Participate in business development efforts to identify and track client and project pursuits

Qualifications:

  • College diploma (civil engineering, construction management, architecture) or bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least 5 years of related experience in a lead estimating role
  • Ability to logically sequence construction work and build project schedules
  • Planning, scheduling, and organization skills
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as bid management and estimating software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) from CIQS would be an asset
  • Experience working with Procore would be an asset

What We Offer:

We are offering a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
