Job Title: Intermediate Hazardous Materials Professional

WSP Canada is seeking an experienced Intermediate Hazardous Materials Professional to join our team in Calgary or Edmonton. As a key member of our Occupational Hygiene and Safety Group, you will provide hazardous materials assessment and abatement/remediation services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct visual assessments of buildings for hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead, PCBs, and other substances.
  • Collect and analyze bulk samples of suspect hazardous materials.
  • Develop hazardous materials management plans, safe work procedures, and exposure control plans.
  • Conduct hazardous materials condition assessments and abatement/remediation inspections.
  • Assist clients with asset assessments, data management, and compliance issues related to regulated materials.
Requirements:
  • Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental diploma/certificate/degree an asset.
  • 3-8 years' experience in health and safety/hazardous materials required.
  • Hazardous materials training and WorkSafeBC Level S Surveyor Safety Training Certificate required.
  • Unrestricted Class 5 Driver's License valid in British Columbia, personal vehicle, and good driving record.
  • Strong computer skills, enthusiasm for technical excellence, and ability to work in a team environment.
