About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Glass Installation Specialist to join our team at Metro Hardware and Maintenance. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and repairing glass products, including windows, doors, and mirrors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the type of glass, frames, and material required for each installation or repair job
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand work requirements
  • Measure, mark, and cut glass to fit specific dimensions
  • Position and secure panes in frames, ensuring proper alignment and sealing
  • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, or other glass products
  • Install door, window, and other hardware, such as handles and hinges
  • Repair damaged glass doors and other glass structures
  • Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment as needed
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education
  • At least 7 months of experience in glass installation or a related field
  • Excellent physical stamina, with the ability to work at heights and handle heavy loads
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights, on scaffolding, and with various lifting equipment. You must be comfortable standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $65,000-$85,000, depending on experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
