About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Architectural Facade Design Specialist to join our team at Alumax Panel Inc. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed shop drawings, piece drawings, and work tickets for our fabrication shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review architectural drawings and project specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Determine the amount of sheets and materials to be used in the project, including waste percentage.
  • Prepare estimates of cladding requirements for new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Draft 2D and 3D basic building systems and mark-up drawings.
  • Communicate with clients regarding RFI's and any addendums.
  • Communicate with clients for approvals, including follow-ups after sending drawings.
Requirements
  • College or university degree in architecture, architectural technologies, civil engineering, or similar field.
  • At least two years of experience as an architectural drafter/designer.
  • At least one year of experience in façade and cladding design.
  • Knowledge of building envelope and rain screen systems.
  • 3D and BIM knowledge is an asset.
  • At least three years of experience with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of building code regarding cladding and enveloping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experienced in estimation and take-off.
  • Exceptional communication skills, organization skills, and work ethic.
