Fire Sprinkler Repair Specialist

SalaryThe estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job DescriptionWe're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Sprinkler Repair Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Responding to service calls from our Service Resource Center to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions;
- Contacting customers to assess equipment/system problems and provide solutions;
- Performing repairs and maintenance on sprinkler systems, including wet steel, copper, and CPVC pipes, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps;
- Following prescribed troubleshooting procedures and referencing technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment;
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals;
- Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with district staff and customers to ensure complete satisfaction;
- Completing Service Acknowledgements electronically with proper coding and obtaining customer signatures;
- Participating in a scheduled on-call rotation;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Sprinkler Fitter Red Seal certification;
- BACKFLOW Certification;
- At least 5 years of experience in the fire sprinkler/suppression industry;
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals;
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- The ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
- The capacity to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.;
- The ability to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet;
- The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements;
- The ability to participate in an on-call rotation schedule;
- Overnight travel will be required;
- A strong commitment to customer service;
- The ability to maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs;
- The ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures;
- Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly;
- A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements;
- The ability to pass a pre-employment background check;
- Must be or willing to become a union member in good standing of Local UA 488.
