Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Water System Maintenance Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry, with a strong background in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals. They will also possess a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as certifications such as Sprinkler Fitter Red seal Certified and BACKFLOW Certification.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet steel, copper, and CPVC0, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/systems problems and provide solutions.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with district staff and customers to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
  • Certifications such as Sprinkler Fitter Red seal Certified and BACKFLOW Certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
