Fire Sprinkler System Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler System Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with local building codes and industry standards.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Detect and diagnose issues with fire suppression systems, including leaks, clogged nozzles, and other malfunctions.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as inspecting equipment, checking gauges, and testing valves.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Requirements
  • Sprinkler Fitter Red Seal certification or equivalent.
  • BACKFLOW Certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the fire sprinkler/suppression industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Overnight travel will be required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be or willing to become a union member in good standing of Local UA 488.
Estimated Salary Range

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
