Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Program Coordinator to join our team as a Community Engagement Specialist. This temporary part-time position will play a key role in designing and delivering programs that foster parenting skills and confidence among Afro-Caribbean fathers and father figures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement community engagement strategies, including the establishment of a community advisory committee.
  2. Collaborate with community partners to develop and strengthen programs that address factors affecting parenting in the context of the wider community and society.
  3. Provide individualized supports, such as referrals to community programs for program participants.
  4. Maintain accurate and complete program statistics and records, and prepare reports as required.
  5. Attend agency staff meetings, training sessions, and special events.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a related field, such as Social Work.
  • Member in good standing with a professional college (if applicable).
  • Five years' experience providing parent support and/or community development.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals and groups, and extensive knowledge of community resources.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and lived experience of issues impacting on parenting for Afro-Caribbean fathers.
  • Strong background in group facilitation.
Salary:

$32.17 per hour, commensurate with experience.
