Strategic Corporate Planning and Performance Director

Standardsco is a new Federal not-for-profit corporation established to foster the independence of Canadian standard-setting for accounting, auditing, and sustainability disclosures. As a critical component, Standardsco will maintain responsibility for the financial sustainability, integrity, and management of a funding model. Accounting, auditing, and sustainability disclosure standards provide a common and essential measurement that lends credibility and trust to both financial and non-financial results of public and private companies, not-for-profit organizations, Crown corporations, governments, and auditing firms.
Standardsco will conduct its affairs under the direction of its inaugural volunteer board, composed of approximately 9 members and appointed by the Reporting and Assurance Standards Oversight Council (RASOC). The board will oversee the following key responsibilities:
- Oversight of the Board and management;
- General corporate director responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws.
- Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a member of a Board of Directors, including an understanding of the principles of sound governance and business practices, corporate planning, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of corporate performance;
- Ability to assess funding opportunities, including related challenges and risks, and incorporate these considerations in Board discussions relating to the support of relevant Canadian standard-setting activities;
- Strong performance history for being able to navigate and drive change in both complex and dynamic environments;
- Experience in building relationships, promoting partnerships, and working with interested and affected parties, such as government, industry, and non-governmental organizations, including regulators.
